How to travel from Chennai to Krishnagiri or Dharmapuri then to Uttangarai by Bus / Train.?

I have never been to Tamil Nadu before. Could someone tell me the best method of travel from Chennai to Uttangarai (Krishnagiri Dist.) near Dharmapuri by public transport.

There is only bus facility in Krishnagiri.

The travel time from chennai to krishnagiri is 5 hours cost rs. 86 in express and costs more than rs.140 in ultradeluxe

you can stay in krishnagiri instead of staying in uthangarai which is just 40 kms from krishnagiri.

you can book tickets in busstand itself and there are some private players like Mettur super services and KPN travels which operate bus to Krishnagiri.

all the omni bus that are going to dharmapuri and salem passes only via krishnagiri. and road from chennai to dharmapuri is not good as it diverts to tirupattur.

The road from chennai to krishnagiri is NH 46 and it is 4 lane now.
